Tom Mix Original Death Car Stam[ed Wire Photograph.

An original black and white photograph of the grisly remains of the car that actor Tom Mix died in on October 12, 1040 in Arizona. The photograph shows the mangled car front and center, in a garage, surrounded by locals, with one who appears to be local sheiff examing the car.This original photograph is stamped on the verso, and is accompanied with the wire story that was attached to it describing the car accident, dated 10/15/40.

Tom Mix was star of many early Western films between 1909 and 1935. He appeared in 291 films, all but nine of which were silent films. He was Hollywood's first Western star and helped define the genre as it emerged in the early days of the cinema.

Dimensions: 9 in x 7 in.

Condition: Good, vintage condition. The wire story is detached from the back, but accompanied the photograph.
