An early “Pioneer Historical Society” rendition of the historical original broadside issued by the War Department on April 20, 1865 announcing a $100,000 REWARD! For the murderer of our late beloved President, Abraham Lincoln. The poster also announces additional rewards for the apprehension of John H. Surratt and David C. Harold, the accomplices of Lincoln’s assassin John Wilkes Booth. It is reported that several different examples of this broadside were printed in Washington D.C. to publicize this reward. Authentic examples of this rare poster which in its’ original form included silver gelatin prints of these wanted individuals attached above the War Department announcement have sold in excess of $200,000 and even those surviving without the attached photos realizing prices in excess of $75,000.
