Elvis Presley's owned and worn colorful scarf made up of yellow, orange and white flowers against a black background. The scarf measures 54.25 inches in length and 4.75" in width. From the personal collection of renowned booking agent and promotional manager Irwin Pate. For over four decades Irwin Pate promoted talent all over the United States and internationally. During his career he and his wife Clarine obtained a large collection of personal clothing and articles belonging to numerous entertainers, including Elvis Presley. Irwin worked with Elvis and his manager Colonel Tom Parker several times in the 1970's. Irwin obtained items directly from Elvis as well as from tour crew members and venue staff. Elvis gave this scarf to a venue employee one night after a concert. The employee had a photo of herself with Elvis, with Elvis wearing the scarf before he gave it to her. She showed this photo to Irwin and Irwin purchased the scarf form her. The photo is not included with the lot. Very good condition. The scarf has been in the possession of the Pates up to the time of this auction. Irwin Pate passed away in May of 2018, and the scarf comes with a letter of provenance from his wife Clarine Pate on Pate Booking Agency letterhead. Also comes with a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
