Michael Jackson owned and worn Bill Whitten's Workroom 27 custom long-sleeved orange shirt with black pinstripes, exaggerated pointed collar and snap closures. With the "Bill Whitten's Workroom 27" label, which was the famed designer's first custom design workroom. A costume designer to some of the most celebrated stars in the music industry, Bill Whitten is perhaps best-known for his bedazzled stage clothes for Michael Jackson, including the creation of Michael's iconic Swarovski rhinestone glove and socks. On creating these iconic pieces for Michael, Whitten explained to the Los Angeles Times, "“It was very simple,” ......“The audience was missing his hand and feet movements. They couldn’t see the quick gestures he was making.” Whitten opened his custom shirt business that he named "Workroom 27" in the early -1970's, and his first star customer was Neil Diamond in 1974. And the rest, is glittering pop costume history! Very good condition. From the personal collection of Frank Cascio, a close friend and personal assistant to Michael, whose family was very close to Michael for many years, travelling all over the world with him. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Frank Cascio and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
