Notes matured and due to Amos Porter. Reflecting the financial condition of Connecticut, payment was made by issuance of replacement notes plus certificates. The notes were originally issued to raise money to arm, outfit and maintain Connecticut soldiers in the Revolution. Ordered and signed by Jedediah Huntington, Treasurer of the State of Connecticut who was born in Norwich, Connecticut, August 4, 1743 into a family made wealthy by the West India Trade. A very compelling piece of American History. Very good condition. Framed to measure 14.5 x 20.5. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
