Screen legend Rudolph Valentino wore this long-sleeved pumpkin orange shirt in his 1921 American silent epic war film "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse". The shirt bears the Hollywood film studio label that bears Valentino's name and measurements, including his height (5'8"), weight and more. The height appearing on the tag is especially important as the question of the virile actor's height was notoriously remarked upon. Although the label has faded it is still legible. This magnificent shirt came from the Hollywood film studio wardrobe department. It was given by an individual in the wardrobe department to a Valentino biographer who was doing research for a project on the iconic actor. Valentino is prominently seen wearing the shirt in the film. Carefully preserved and in excellent condition, with some very slight wear. There is a light smudge on the back of the shirt and the seam at the back of one of the sleeves, at the armpit is very slightly apart, you can view these in the last two images shown in the listing. Comes with a letter of provenance from the Valentino biographer who obtained the shirt directly from their friend in the studio wardrobe department and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
