This is a stunning original 19th century print engraving of Ulysses S. Grant with his wife and four children in an attractive period oval frame (12.5 X 11.5). The photographic print of “The Grant Family” pictures the Civil War hero and past United States President with his wife Julia surrounded by his four children Nelie, Fred, Jesse and Ulysses Jr. Considered one of the most masterful generals in American History, if not World History, Grant (along with General William Tecumseh Sherman) led the Union Army to victory in the Civil War and accepted General Robert E. Lee's surrender of the Confederate Army at Appomattox Court House on April 9, 1865. It was on the wings of his heroic popularity, next to only that of President Lincoln's that catapulted him to the Presidency in 1869, where he served two terms.
