Aerosmith Band Signed Gibson Guitar Played by Steven Tyler and Joe Perry.
A unique Gibson Guitar that has been signed by Aerosmith band members Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Brad Whitford and Tom Hamilton in various sharpies. The guitar was also played by Steven Tyler, to which he played a rendition of “Janie’s Got a Gun”.
The story of how the guitar was signed by Aerosmith and played by Steven Tyler is as follows, per our consignor: “I have a long history with Aerosmith going back decades. They were all good guys. They all teased me as they signed a guitar. Steven, in characteristic Steven Tyler mode, grabbed the guitar, and played it as he sang an outlandishly and playfully silly version of “Jamie’s Got a Gun,” while brandishing the guitar like the gun he was singing about.”
Provenance: From the collection of a former Music Executive. Lots 76 to 100 and Lots 499 to 803 in this auction are consigned by one vendor, who worked with and met various artists from 1985-1992. All the items were personally obtained by the vendor. This is the best in-person collection we have ever handled as an auction company.
