Andy Warhol's 1966 "Campbell's Soup Bag" for ICA Boston Exhibition
Dimensions: 19.5 x 17 inches (49.53 x 43.8 cm)
Condition: Excellent - new/unused
Artistic Method: Silkscreen printing in colours on a paper shopping bag
This vibrant screenprint of Warhol's most famous image - The Campbells Soup Can, is printed ironically on a large paper bag, similar to that of a grocer. The satire of the ordinary object becoming a pop culture and art icon is twofold, as the paper bag acting as the canvas parallels in symbolism to the "everyday" soup can. The Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) commissioned it in limited amounts for the Boston exhibition of 1966, making it incredibly rare today.
Comes with a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity
