Offered here is an incredible baseball signed by baseball legends Babe Ruth & Bob Meusel during their iconic 1924 Barnstorming Tour.

Most importantly, this baseball was hit by Babe Ruth for an iconic home run during the 10/21/1924 game in Portland, Oregon. Due to the down season and the opportunity to pocket a little extra money, Babe Ruth and teammate Bob Meusel, along with Walsh, set out on what was to become the Babe’s most successful barnstorming tour in 1924. The troupe departed on October 15, heading west towards Northern California, with their first stop in Kansas City. The team traveled over 8,500 miles in a little over two weeks, playing in 15 cities before 125,000 fans. There were15 scheduled games on the tour, and Babe's team won them all. He also hit 17 homers. West coast stops included: Spokane, Tacoma, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Stockton, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara. Baseball rules governing exhibition tours at the time mandated the last game be played by October 31.

This baseball was hit and signed by Babe Ruth during their stop in Portland, Oregon. The story surrounding this baseball in incredible!

Per the original owner, “These two baseballs have been in our family’s possession since it was autographed on October 21st, 1924. Our Mother, Grace Tarbell, was a 7-year-old park rat at the Vaughn Street Ballpark in Portland, Oregon. It was home to the Portland Beavers of the Pacific Coast League. Her Grandfather, Edward William (Big Ed) Krentlehr, was the groundskeeper there. She grew up loving baseball, and on this day Babe Ruth and Bob Meusel were playing on one of their barnstorming tours, and on opposing teams instead of members of the New York Yankee Murderer’s Row. One on the Elks Team and the other on the Gul Reazee Grotto (Masons) team. They played half the game on one team and then switched. One ball was new, signed just by Babe Ruth, and the other was a Babe Ruth Home Run baseball signed by both Babe Ruth and Bob Meusel. Both of these baseballs were in our Mother’s possession until she passed in 1982. They have been a cherished part of our family, but it’s time they go to someone else to enjoy.”

The other ball that is mentioned in the Letter of Authenticity is not apart of this lot, only the Babe Ruth Home Run Signed Baseball. An incredible opportunity to own a piece of Baseball history.

Authentication: Beckett Authentication Services (BAS) Letter of Authenticity, a MEARS Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
