Presented here is one of the finest surviving working "HELP!" in-store motorized displays with its original Capitol Records shipping box. The display was created by Capitol Records for use in select record outlets to promote the soundtrack for the 1965 film, which quickly went to #1 on the Billboard chart. This display comes complete with a rudimentary electric motor and is patterned after a "jack-in-the-box" where the motor activates the lid, revealing four Beatles' hands reaching out and then retracting as the lid closes. Attached to each hand is a wrist band with a different letter spelling out H-E-L-P. The sacrificial ring central to the film's plot is attached to Ringo's hand. The front of the display has an original Capitol Records "HELP!" album cover slick attached, while the back side has the back cover slick attached. In the fully-opened position, the display is 32 inches tall. Accompanied by a reproduction of the original instruction sheet as well as the original Capitol Records box the display was shipped in to the record outlet, in excellent condition. The display in in superb working condition and is one of the finest of the few surviving examples we've seen. The oversized and multi-part displays from this era were fragile and store owners usually discarded them because of their size. The ones that have survived were mainly salvaged by fans and thus finding them today both intact and in working condition is quite uncommon. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
