From the personal collection of Cassius Clay, this is the earliest known "Cassius Clay" Golden Gloves fight poster to ever come to auction. This poster was for the 1960 Louisville Golden Gloves tournament held on February 1, 2 and 3 at Freedom Hall (Kentucky Exposition Center) in Louisville. Picturing the young Cassius Clay as the 1959 National Golden Glove and A.A.U. Champion in the upper left corner on the cusp of his becoming “The Greatest” professional boxer in history, the 16.75 X 22 poster was once displayed at the “Kentucky Boxing Hall of Fame,” where it was on loan from then Muhammad Ali (Cassius Clay) himself. From here, Clay advanced to the 1960 National Golden Gloves Tournament in Chicago and months later won the light heavyweight Gold Medal in the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome. A uniquely rare fight poster would be the pinnacle of the finest boxing collection. The poster is on light cardboard backing. Very good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
