Elvis Presley Early 1970's Owned & Worn Custom Faded Glory Two-Piece Denim Outfit.
Elvis Presley owned and worn custom Faded Glory two piece blue denim outfit, consisting of a long-sleeved two-toned, button down shirt and pants. The outfit was purchased from one of Elvis' favorite stores, Lansky's in Memphis and bears Faded Glory labels as well as the Lansky's "Styled for Elvis Presley" label. The outfit is also accompanied by its original Lansky hanger Although Elvis was not a fan of blue jeans, this patchwork style caught his eye in the early 70's and he purchased several styles of these unique outfits. The patchwork jacket/shirt has a pearlized snap button front and cuffs. The patchwork bell bottom pants complete the outfit. Elvis is pictured here wearing another version of this Faded Glory outfit backstage at the Las Vegas Hilton in 1974, with one of his favorite singers, Jackie Wilson as well as others.
Provenance: Elvis gifted this custom denim outfit to his friend Shaun Nielsen, who first met Elvis when he was a backup singer on his gospel album "How Great Thou Art." Shaun sang with Elvis until his final show. Elvis gave this Faded Glory custom outfit to Shaun during a recording session at Graceland in October, 1976. During that session he gave out many of his personal clothing and accessories, and according to Shaun Elvis owned several of this style of Faded Glory denim outfits.
