Elvis Presley's film-used Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar that he also personally owned and used.
The "Gibson" on the headstock was blacked out. Elvis used this guitar in his Paramount films "Blue Hawaii" and "G.I. Blues." According to the letter from Charlie Hodge, he may have also used the guitar in "King Creole" as that was a Paramount production as well.
The guitar is stamped inside "Property of Paramount Prop Department" and Elvis's name is stamped inside as well.
According to Charlie Hodge, Elvis would usually take home his movie-used guitars, and he played this guitar at his home in Los Angeles and at Graceland.
Provenance: Originally from the collection of Charlie Hodge. Charlie first met Elvis when he was with the band the "Foggy Mountain River Boys." They two met again when they served in the U.S. Army in Germany. They quickly became close friends and Hodge lived at Graceland until Elvis passed away in 1977. Charlie was Elvis's stage director and sang harmony on stage with him and handing him his scarves. Charlie also appeared as an extra in many of Elvis's films.
