This is Elvis Presley's prototype gold eagle belt created by Bill Belew for Presley's historic 1973 "Aloha From Hawaii" concert. For this performance, Elvis asked his costume designer Bill Belew to make him something that made a bold statement about his love of America. Bill came up with the idea of using gold eagles on the belt for the jumpsuit. This prototype belt was sent to Elvis for his approval of the eagles that Bill had designed. On the back of the belt Bill wrote "Elvis, these sample of eagles I'll use- Ok with you?" Upon receiving the belt via courier, Elvis wrote back in his own hand, on the belt, 'Ok, Elvis." Very good condition. Comes with letter of provenance from Joe Esposito, Elvis' close friend and road manager. Also comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
