A pair of ticket stubs to one of the most historic concerts in rock history, The Concert for Bangladesh, August 1, 1971. Organized by George Harrison and Ravi Shankar, the benefit concert was the first of its kind, an all-star concert to benefit East Pakistan as it struggled to become Bangladesh and ushered in the era of All-Star Benefit Concerts. There were two performances, one in the afternoon and one in the evening, and these tickets are for the evening performance. Hosted by George Harrison and "Friends" the concert featured such icons as Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr, Billy Preston, Leon Russell and Ravi Shankar who opened the concert. It was Harrison's first performance since the break-up of the Beatles and the first live performance of the Beatles, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" where the public was first made aware that the guitar solo in the song was Clapton not Harrison. The ticket stubs each measure approximately 2" x 2" and are in fair condition. Estimate $300-$500.
