George Washington original lock of hair in “G.W.” engraved hair brooch with Incredible provenance.

Small over-pearl bordered, many strands of hair under glass, on gold back engraved script of “G.W.”
This hair was handed down directly from son to son of the descendants of Elias Hasket Derby, Salem, Massachusetts “merchant prince”. He has his wife personally acquainted with the President and Martha Washington. An exchange of letters on the subject between Dr. George Derby and the owner of another Washington hair lock accompanies this lot.
It does not get better than that for provenance, dating back to the 1780s.
