Harry Houdini Signed & Inscribed The Unmasking of Robert-Houdini 1908 First Edition Book (JSA).

The great magician Harry Houdini signed and inscribed the fly page page of this original, 1908, first edition of his book The Unmasking of Robert-Houdini in black ink. Houdini has written "To G. Hanson, with compliments of the author Harry Houdini, New York July 8 - 1908" in black ink. Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdini and Harry Houdini were two different individuals, famous for magic and illusion. Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdini, a Frenchman, is widely recognized as the father of modern conjuring. However, Houdini, seeing him as a rival and an untruthful one at that, tries to push Robert-Houdini from his pedestal in this book. He tries to show that most tricks Robert-Houdini claimed as his invention were in fact not his invention and that Robert-Houdini was not this great magician he was thought to be.

Dimensions: 5.75 in x 8.25 in.

This book is in remarkably fine condition considering it was published well over 100 years ago (1908). The hard-cover book is intact - all the original pages are present - however the body of the book is for the most part detached from the binding. There are several pages still connected to the binding, helping to keep the whole book together.

Authentication: James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
