James Brown Stage Worn Black Patent Leather Shoes.

From the collection of the late Irwin Pate who passed away in May 2018. Irwin was a renowned booking agent and promotional manager for over four decades. He promoted talent all over the United States and Internationally and during his career he and his wife Clarine obtained a large collection of personal clothing and articles belonging to numerous entertainers. Irwin worked as James Brown's booking and promotional manager in the 1960s. They continued to work together on occasion in the following years and were also very close friends until James Brown passed away in 2006.

Provenance: Over the course of their business association and personal friendship, Irwin acquired several of James Brown's personal clothing articles and belongings, including these black patent leather shoes. The shoes have been safely kept in the Pate collection for decades.
