Three sheets of paper on which Jimi Hendrix has handwritten the working lyrics to his 1970 song ‘Straight Ahead’. There are various crossing outs, corrections and annotations across the sheets and the song differs quite a lot to the finished lyrics. The lyrics read: “Have you heard – about what’s happening all around – Haven't you heard what we're spreading around Town - Aint talking bout black and white I’m talking bout the world all around -solo – Good God. 2. Communication – is coming on strong – And we don’t give a damn if your hair is short or long. Just get off your ass and get on your feet Because they want to the truth, and not a whole lot of Dusty lies Now is the time forever for ourselves to realize. Practice what you know and know what you preach Get off your ass and get on your feet. Everybody get on your feet – Everybody, Dance to the Beat. Do your thang – to it to the Beat. God is good if he’s understood I’m And when you want to burn Baby, Just don’t burn me – And do what you preach Solo – Rock part - Have you heard about my Baby Darling making love to all the world. Well…I don’t mind It would take me too long for me to do all by myself and I’m happy talking bout…..my girl and me – talking about my guitar and me. Have you heard – about what’s happening people listen to music they don’t let nothing bring them down.”
