John Bradley Signed Check Battle of Iwo Jima (PSA/DNA Mint 9)

John Bradley Signed Check. Bradley served with the Marines during the Battle of Iwo Jima in World War II and was a member of the patrol that famously captured the top of Mount Suribachi and raised the first flag on Iwo Jima on February 23, 1945. After the battle, Bradley was identified as surviving second flag raisers which was the event depicted in the iconic photograph “Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima” taken by photographer Joe Rosenthal after which the Marines reassigned Bradley to help raise funds for the Seventh War loan drive.
