John Lennon 1961 Contact Sheet by Jurgen Vollmer

In twelve onstage close-ups captured by Jurgen Vollmer at Hamburg's Top Ten Club in Spring ‘61, John is belting out a vocal; playing his Rickenbacker with George and Pete in the background of several of the images. Vollmer's iconic image of Lennon in the doorway was used as the front cover of his 1974 "Rock & Roll" album. Given to Pauline Sutcliffe (brother of original Beatles' bassist Stuart Sutcliffe) by Jurgen Vollmer in 1989. 11" x 14.5", EX. Estimate: $500-$700.
