John Lennon has handwritten this circa early 1970's letter to Bhaskar Menon, then Chairman of Capitol Records, regarding the promotion of his wife Yoko Ono's new album, yet most interestingly, referring to the "rife" rumor of the Beatles reuniting again, declaring it "...such an unfounded untrue rumour..." This is the only such example written by the hand of any "Beatle," let alone John Lennon, that we have ever seen making reference to this speculation held worldwide and declaring that the famed band would not be reuniting. Handwritten and signed in green felt tip pen, Lennon ends the letter "-anyway 'give Yoko a chance' " (referring to their song "Give Peace A Chance"), "Happy New Year, Love John & Yoko." When John met Yoko, she had quite an influence on him, more of an influence than the rest of the group appreciated. Many Beatles fans blame Yoko for the demise of the band, although certainly there were plenty of creative differences within the group to cause their split. Measures 8" x 3.5". Excellent condition. Estimate: $22,000 - $25,000.
