John Lennon Owned Miniature Indian Rajasthan Muslim Painting 1966.
The Beatles' John Lennon purchased this beautiful Indian Rajasthan Muslim painting during the groups first trip to India in 1966. Apart from its ownership by one of rock and roll's most important artists this painting has been identified as being over 300 years old. Lennon took the painting back to England where he gave it to his wife at the time Cynthia Lennon, and they hung it in their bedroom at Kenwood Weybridge, Surrey for several years. When Lennon move with Yoko Ono to Tittenhurst Park the piece came with them, and Lennon ultimately gifted the painting to Beatles executive Alistair Taylor.
Size: 9.5 in 13 in.
Condition: Extremely delicate, the painting shows wear. however the colors are vibrant, strong and detailed.
