John Lennon Owned & Worn Custom Handmade Black Leather Belt with Pouches.
This black leather handmade belt featuring pouches in which to hold personal items was owned and worn by John Lennon who personally commissioned its creation in 1969 in Toronto on Yorkville Street. The belt is very similar to the one John wore in the final Beatles photo session in 1970, that belt was from the same shop in Toronto to which Lennon was taken to by Ritchie Yorke. The sack on this belt features two pouches with snap closures, a zipper compartment in the front and another zipper compartment in the back. There is a lighter in the smaller pouch.
Originally from the collection of Alistair Taylor, a long time friend and Apple Records associate of John's. John gave it to Alistair in 1971. Considered a close friend, Alistair was one of the few connected to the Beatles who came to John house to help him pack and move out, prior to his leaving for England for the U.S.
Dimensions: Length, unbuckled is approximately 42 inches, the pouches measure approximately 7 in x 11 in.
Condition: Very good vintage condition.
