John Lennon Owned and Worn Red, White and Blue "Vote" Sweatshirt.
John Lennon's owned and worn red, white and blue, short-sleeved "VOTE" sweatshirt. The sweatshirt comes from the collection of renowned booking agent and promotional agent Irwin Pate, During his very long career, Irwin and his wife Clarine obtained a large collection of personal clothing and articles belonging to numerous entertainers. When traveling on concert tours Irwin often would obtain many of these articles from both tour crew members and venue staff, and some items he obtained directly from the celebrity. Among the vast number of entertainers that he came in contact with, worked with, and knew was John Lennon, who he worked with on several occasions. During one of their meetings in the late 1970's, Irwin told John about his and Clarine's collection, and John later arranged for Irwin to be gifted some items, including this "VOTE" red, white and blue short-sleeved sweatshirt that he no longer wore.
