KISS Gene Simmons Original Handwritten “God of Thunder” & "Gather Darkness" Lyrics.
Written on Washington Plaza Stationary by Gene Simmons in vintage ballpoint pen are the original lyrics to "Gather Darkness" & most importantly the iconic song "God of Thunder".

Gene Simmons has written in ballpoint pen, "You've got something about u, You've got something I need, Daughter of Aphrodite Hear my words and take heed. I was born on Olympus, To my father, a son, I was raised by the demons, Trained as the one. G D & R R. The spell you're under. Will slowly rob you of your virgin soul. I'm the lord of the wastelands. A modern-day man of steel. I gather darkness to please me. And I command you to kneel".
There are certain differences in the lyrics written here and the original lyrics such as, "Trained as the one" in the song is "Trained to reign as the one" and other various small changes.
Also included is an unreleased song "Gather Darkness" all written by Gene Simmons.
"God of Thunder" is a song by Kiss from their 1976 album Destroyer. The song has also been featured on many of Kiss' live albums, including an up-tempo version on Alive II. Many various sound effects were used to make the song including explosions, clapping, zippers, overdubbed audience chatter and screaming children. The song was thought to be written by Paul Stanley, who intended to sing it on the album, but producer Bob Ezrin suggested slowing down the tempo and handing the lead vocals over to Gene Simmons.
These lyrics are proof that Simmons did indeed help with the writing process of this iconic song.
