Postcard/Mailer for "Recent Work."

PIeces: Two Cards

Dimensions: 5.75 x 4 Inches (14.605 x 10.16 cm)

The front of the postcard is an image of Haring, at age twelve, leaning against a white column of his house in Pennsylvania.

Haring produced the postcards around October/November 1988. These mailers are printed on card stock - and were exclusively in the NYC region in 1988/89 (with a few exceptions).

The back of the postcard provides information on his "Recent Work" exhibition, which was to go from December 3, 1988, to January 7, 1989. Tony Shafrazi Gallery, owned by Haring's art dealer, hosted most of Haring's NYC shows and featured the recent exhibition of late 1988.

"RECENT WORK": In 1988, Haring's work reflected a man who had just received an AIDS diagnosis. His art for this period reflected a sense of emptiness, as his iconic figures and simple style remained black and white, portraying his classic oeuvre.
