Rock and Roll icon and Doors front man Jim Morrison's 1962 hand-painted, signed and titled "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" original set design painting for the famed Tennessee Williams play. Painted by Morrison in watercolor, and signed and titled in Morrison's hand "Williams, Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, JM". The water color painting measures approximately 11 x 16.5 (visible) and has been professionally matted and framed to measure 25.75 x 22. With a gold plaque on the bottom stating "Original Watercolor design Florida State University 1962 by Jim Morrison". Morrison transferred from St. Petersburg Junior College to Florida State University in 1962 (he subsequently transferred in 1964 to the University of California at Los Angeles where he received his undergraduate degree from the UCLA film school in 1965). Provenance Christie's Auction House. Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity, the original Christie's auction tag, and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity
