An impressively signed, historical land grant dated May 4, 1807 signed by Thomas Jefferson as President of the United States and James Madison as Secretary of State. The 15 X 8.25 vellum document bears the Federal paper seal and outlines the sale of “…Lands of the United States in the Territory north-west of the Ohio, and above the mouth of Kentucky river,” to the addressee Daniel Cloud. A rare find for even the most advanced collectors of historical autographs; Jefferson was the principal author of the Declaration of Independence who served as the 3rd President of the United States (1801-1809) and Madison often cited as the “Father of the Constitution” and who succeeded Jefferson, serving as the 4th President of the United States (1809-1817). Very good condition. Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
