Princess Diana of Wales owned and worn Bruce Oldfield Couture navy blue coat dress with detachable white collar. Diana is pictured here wearing very similar dresses, one of which is virtually identical. According the letter of provenance that comes with the dress, Diana wore this dress as part of her daywear for both formal and informal occasions. She can be seen in pictures wearing nearly identical pieces by Catherine Walker who was a designer that Diana worked closely with. It is thought that this is a design that Diana liked very much and she got various designers to make their own versions of the style as Diana has worn many versions of this style of dress. There is mild staining along the hem and label and well as some mild sweat stains to the removable collar. The dress is accompanied by a letter of provenance from Ana Rose who was given the dress by Diana's mother Frances Shand Kydd shortly after Diana's tragic death. Ana Rose worked for Frances Shand Kydd from the early 1990's up until her death in 2004 in an unofficial manner, They became very close and Kydd gave her numerous gifts. After Diana passed away, Ana Rose helped Kydd unpack and store many of Diana's pieces, this dress is one of those pieces. Also comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
