This baseball has a story as remarkable as the people who signed it. In 2008, MLB Hall of Fame Outfielder Dave Winfield — a Black man — collaborated with the MLB to hold a special draft for all of the surviving Negro League baseball players who never got a chance to play in the Major League due to the color barrier. On June 5, the MLB hosted such draft as a way to honor the former baseball players who were at that point in their 80s or 90s. This signed baseball is from that event and has Winfield's signature right on the sweet spot with the inscription "HOF 2001". In total the ball has 18 signatures, including MLB greats Don Newcomb and Maury Wills, as well as Negro League alum Walter McCoy. The ball is dated 2008. This is truly a one-of-a-kind piece that commemorates baseball history. Good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
