Super rare real photo postcard (RPPC) of race car driver Billy Winn (1909-1938) signed “Best Wishes Billy Winn,” in blue fountain pen ink. Photo PC also identifies Winn by name and photo taken by Cy LaTour, the Official Photographer of AAA (American Automobile Association). Winn was most active in racing sprint cars as driven by him in the 1936 and 1937 Vanderbilt Cup races. Winn competed in four Indianapolis 500 races (1931, 1932, 1936 and 1937) and drove as a relief driver in 1933, 1934, 1935 and 1938. Winn was killed while racing in a 100 mile AAA Champ Car race at the Illinois State Fairgrounds on August 20, 1938 when tire failure caused his car to overturn. Postally unused, the 5.5 X 3.5 card remains in excellent condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
