On his stationary as consultant to “A. G. Spalding & Bros.” and Golf Professional of the Detroit Golf Club, golfing legend Horton Smith signs twice with one signature inscribed and dated, “Good Golfing to Peter Shikes, Horton Smith, 1962,” in blue ballpoint pen. Winner of the very first and third Masters tournaments, Smith played in every Masters Tournament from 1934 until his death in 1963. Smith was the only golfer to defeat Bobby Jones during 1930, Jone’s Grand Slam year. 7.25 X 10.5. Very good condition. Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
