Scott Fitzgerald; in literature referred to as the “Lost Generation,” is American novelist most notable for his “U.S.A. Trilogy,” John Dos Passos (1896-1970). Also recognized for his shifting political views having an impact on his writings, this is a rare signed check made out to him dated December 7, 1931 drawn on the Title Guarantee and Trust Company bank endorsed by Passos on the verso. Besides his acclaimed writings as a novelist, playwright, poet and journalist, Dos Passos also created his own cover art for his books, influenced by modernism in the 1920s Paris.
