Janis Joplin owned and worn silver-toned, blue stone "Bohemian-style" necklace. The necklace comes from the the personal collection of renowned booking agent and promotional manager Irwin Pate, and his wife Clarine Pate. For over four decades Irwin Pate promoted talent all over the United States and internationally. During his career he and his wife Clarine obtained a large collection of personal clothing and articles belonging to numerous entertainers, including Joplin. Irwin knew Janis Joplin and worked with her on a few occasions in the 1960's. During one of their meetings, Irwin told Janis about their collection. She then gifted Irwin some items, including this necklace. Very good condition. Irwin Pate passed away in May of 2018, and this necklace comes with a letter of provenance from his wife Clarine Pate on PBA Pate Booking Agency letterhead, as well as a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
