The extremely rare and desirable vintage Mickey Mantle “rookie” signature signed on the verso of this business card from a Massachusetts manufacturer of Juvenile Sporting Goods. Jokingly, perhaps Mantle was being fitted at the time for one of his first Yankee uniforms as the business card makes reference to “Little Yankee” in its contents. Penned in blue ink, Mantle started as a rookie with the Yankees in 1951 and led them to seven World Series before the end of the decade with the Yankee dynasty claiming five World Championship titles. Mantle's personal accomplishments were exceptional during this time as well; winning the American League MVP in 1956 and 1957 and being awarded the 1956 Triple Crown award. Mickey Mantle signed rookie signatures are much scarcer and significantly more valuable than his autograph signed during any other period during or after his illustrious career. 3.5 X 2.
