Miles Davis incredible original painting that he has signed on the lower left hand corner.

Titled, “Betty Davis Eyes,” this artwork features Miles Davis's wife Betty Davis. It is two sided, with Miles doing another incredible sketch on the other side. Drawn with "color marker on paper."

Provenance: This piece of art originally came from the Yoko Ono Lennon/Ono multimedia exhibit.

It is extremely rare to find any artwork by Miles Davis, especially an original.

Betty Davis was Miles’ second wife. An artist in her own right, Betty put out several groundbreaking R&B records in the early 70’s. She is also credited with introducing Miles to Jimi Hendrix, who it is said to have influenced Miles to add rock and roll to his music, this is when jazz fusion was born (see Miles Davis' album "Bitches Brew:). However, as stated in Miles Davis’ autobiography, Miles also thought his wife had an affair with Jimi Hendrix which was the reason he divorced Betty. Miles and Jimi remained friends and they wanted to record together but as fate would have it Jimi passed away before this momentous occasion could be realized.

Dimensions: 10 in x 12 in.

Very Good.

Authenticity: Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
