This is an original animation stand director’s proof 5" x 4” color transparency used in the making of “The Yellow Submarine,” the 1968 psychedelic animated feature film based on the music of the Beatles. This is a rare artifact from the making of this box-office bonanza produced by “King Features-Subafilms Ltd.” whose dated copyright appears on the transparency. This image portrays the yellow submarine in an unusual non-animated montage, using a scene from London with a girl standing in the doorway of a building to present the illusion of flying as the submarine takes off on the Beatles quest to restore peace in the unearthly paradise called Pepperland. Excellent condition. Estimate: $200 - $300.
