Queen Original Band Members Signed “Smile” 45 Record and Sleeve - First Ever Queen Related Record - Only Known Signed Example!

Queen band members Freddie Mercury, Brian May and John Deacon have boldly and beautifully signed this 45 record sleeve in blue ballpoint pen. Roger Taylor has signed the center of the record itself, in black ballpoint pen.

The 45 record is a promotional copy that was not for sale, recorded on Mercury Records with "Step On Me/Smile" listed on one side and "Earth/Smile" listed on the other. The sleeve is very thin cardboard-like material.

Before forming Queen, May and Taylor had played together in the band “Smile.” Mercury was a fan of Smile and encouraged them to experiment with more elaborate stage and recording techniques. He joined in 1970 and suggested the name "Queen." Deacon was recruited in February 1971, before the band released their self-titled debut album in 1973. The 45 record presented here is quite literally the start of the iconic band Queen. What makes this record (and sleeve) even more significant is the fact that it boasts the signatures of the original band members. To our knowledge, this is the only known signed example to exist, making it a truly one-of-a-kind collectible.

Dimensions: Approximately 7 x 7.5 inches (sleeve).

Condition: Very Good.

Authentication: James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
