Although his more mainstream career spanned just four years (1966 to ‘70), the late Jimi Hendrix of Seattle, Washington, is regarded as one of the greatest and most influential electric guitarists in the history of music, and certainly is one of the most celebrated musicians of the 20th century. Though he performed starting in 1962, in the short time he actually toured, Hendrix attracted a legion of fans who loved his music, songwriting and singing. Unfortunately, on Sept. 18, 1970, Hendrix was found unresponsive in a flat in London, England, and pronounced dead. He was just 27 years old. The cause of death was determined to be that he aspirated his own vomit and died of asphyxia while intoxicated with barbiturates.
Presented here is a rare concert ticket to one of his performances overseas in Sandviken, Sweden. The ticket is dated Sept. 8, 1967, and with the exception of his name and the date of the concert, the rest of the text is printed in Swedish.
