Stanley Kubrick Signed "The Shining" Book Dedicated to a Crewmember on Movie Set.

Warner Bros., 1980. Vintage paperback copy of Stephen King's seminal horror novel published by Doubleday (U.S.) and New English Library (U.K.), 1977.

This 415-page U.K. paperback was signed during the filming of Kubrick's screen adaptation of the groundbreaking horror movie The Shining. A crewmember had the copy signed during production. Kubrick inscribed the book in blue ink, "Thank you for a wonderful job and for Van Gellis (sic)" as this crewmember introduced the director to the music of Vangelis. As a result, Kubrick had hoped to use the Greek composer's work in The Shining but didn't end up procuring his services.

This was the crew member's personal (U.K.) reading copy, so it exhibits expected age and wear to the spine and covers.

Dimensions: 4.25 x 7 inches.

Authentication: James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
