Star-Club Hamburg Germany 1960's Original Receipt Books Featuring The Beatles Historic 1962 Appearance.
This original archive of drink receipt books from the famed Star-Club in Hamburg, Germany ranges from 1962 to 1965. The 1962 book, when the Beatles were in residence, is filled with John, Paul, George and Pete's drink orders, and the pages display their carbon signatures, often followed by "Beatle", the drink they ordered (Cola seemed to be the preferred quaff), and how much each owed for the drinks - presumably taken out of their pay. It is clear that John was the thirstiest with approximately 13 drink orders, with Paul a close second with approximately 9. George and Pete (Best, their drummer before Ringo), bringing up the rear with approximately 5 and 3, respectively. An incredible look into the early Beatles, when they were the lads still making it at the Star-Club!
Dimensions: Each book measures approximately 4 in x 8 in, with virtually all of them being stamped by the Star-Club.
Condition: Vintage, very good.
