An actual ticket stub from the historic Beatles concert at New York's Carnegie Hall on February 12, 1964. An extremely rare ticket as there is scarce memorabilia in circulation from their performances at Carnegie Hall, which took place only five days after their landing at LaGuardia Airport on February 7 and three days after their historic performance on the Ed Sullivan show. The Beatles performed at the venue twice in one day, in two evening performances, each lasting 35 minutes. The concerts were supposed to be recorded for a live album, however at the last minute the American Federation of Musicians union prevented the recording. The venue had been booked six months prior by an incredibly prescient Sid Bernstein, at a time when the Beatles weren't very well known in the U.S. It was on this trip that "Beatlemania" began, the Carnegie Hall concerts playing a very important part of that historic moment in rock. The ticket stub measures 1.75" x 1.5" and has been somewhat altered by a glaze on half of the ticket, although all the print is legible for the date, seat, section and price of the ticket. The back of the ticket has been stained on the corners and a quarter inch patch of white where the blue of the ticket has rubbed off. Estimate $300-$500.
