Beatles George Harrison Hare Krishna Devotee Original Painting with a Likeness of Srila Prabuphada on the bead bag.

This beautiful painting of the Beatles George Harrison in devotional clothes as a Hare Krishna devotee is from the early 1990s and was painted in India by a famous Indian painter in Jaipur, the inclusion of Prabuphada’s image in the body of the work was a recognition and acknowledgement of the level of importance to which George had been elevated within the movement on a worldwide basis. It was presented to George Harrison on his final trip to Vrindavan UP India in April 1996. According to the certificate this painting comes with, George loved the painting and left it with a devotee’s family with the intention of having it shipped to his home in England later on. The painting was mounted at the ISKCON temple in Vrindavan, George tragically passed away in 2001, and for reasons unknown, the painting was never sent on to him. From the exclusive collection of Srimati Krishna Priya Dei Dasi and family, this artwork has never before been seen publicly, or by any of George’s family and business colleagues, as it was an intimate keepsake to the memory of George Harrison to all Hare Krishna devotees. The painting is accompanied by an 8.5 x 11 color print of George sitting in a similar posture that was most likely used as the inspiration for the painting.
