The Beatles "A Hard Day's Night" Original Film Used Casino Chips

Three Les Ambassadeurs Club casino chips from Richard Lester's Beatles musical comedy “A Hard Day's Night”. Gamblers at the famous Les Ambassadeurs Club, where the production filmed in its Le Cercle casino, used chips when Paul McCartney's grandfather John (Wilfrid Brambell) slipped away from The Beatles to place a bet.

This set features one £1 chips, one £5 chip and one £10 chip. All three are made of plastic and feature pearlescent-red, light-blue and pink finishes respectively. The £5 chip and the £10 chip features a black picture of Les Ambassadeurs Club on the reverse, and all the chips are stamped with serial numbers. As it is not possible to screen-match this plaque among the many required on set, we are unable to verify if this particular prop was one used for filming.
