The certificates issued in 1969 by Nemporer Holdings Limited grant the members of The Beatles 2,450 shares of stock, while Brian Epstein's mother, Queenie, and brother, Clive, each receive 68,000 and 19,600 shares, respectively. NEMS Enterprises, formed by Brian Epstein to direct the Beatles' careers, was derived from the first letters of North End Music Stores, which was the name of the Epstein family's Liverpool record shops. It was Cavern disc jockey and local promoter Bob Wooler who christened Brian Epstein as "Nemporer;" the name eventually adopted by Epstein as the name of one of his numerous enterprises. The signatures of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Richard Starkey (Ringo Starr's legal name) are executed in black ink, while Queenie Epstein has signed in blue. The 8" x 13" double-sided certificates exhibit normal handling wear, staple holes to the upper left corners; several with wrinkling to several of the corners that do not infringe upon the signatures. Estimate: $12,000 - $15,000.
