A pair of scenic real photo postcards (RPPC), each made out and inscribed by actor Warner Oland (1879-1938). One postcard is postmarked 1924 from Cottonwood Lakes (CA) in which he signs in full, “Regards to all Warner Oland” and writes of doing scenes for the 1925 edition film, “Riders of the Purple Sage” (Oland appears as Lew Walters aka Judge Dyer). The other postcard is signed “Regards to you father & all, W. Oland,” in which he writes of his goodtime visiting Mexico. Oland is best remembered for playing several Chinese and Chinese-American characters including Dr. Fu Manchu, Henry Chang in “Shganghai Express” and his most famous role as police detective Charlie Chan in 16 films. Each postcard is lightly taped in a display matte using archival tape. Display matte. 8.5 x 11. Very good condition.
