It is quite literally a piece of art, as much as it is a definitive piece of vintage KISS touring history! Featured here is the original, one-of-a-kind 1976 Destroyer Tour stage model that was exclusively designed for KISS.

New York based stage designer Mark Ravitz was tasked in 1973 with creating the first ever KISS stage logo. A few years later – and enjoying the commercial success of ‘Alive!’ album sales – KISS was able to allocate more money for a full stage design and returned to render the services of Ravitz again; this time to produce the 1976 ‘Destroyer’ stage.

The details of this stage model is breathtaking and shows all aspects of what made this stage so memorable; the light and spike towers, the crumbling walls, the crystals, drum riser, clouds and even the red, white and blue painted lightning bolts (after all, it was 1976 and America was celebrating its 200th anniversary). The model dimensions are 22 inches wide, 14 inches high and 12 inches deep. It is housed in a custom case that measures 30 x 19 x 17 inches.

The model has been preserved exceptionally well and is in pristine condition. It is however an exceptionally delicate item to ship and will require the services of a professional art carrier. A local pick-up is recommended.

This model comes directly from the private collection of Mark Ravitz, artist and designer who is best known for creating historic stages for KISS, David Bowie, Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, Tommy (The Who) and Backstreet Boys. A Certificate of Authenticity – signed by Mark Ravitz – will be included with this lot.

Also comes with a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
