Offered here is one of Freddie Mercury’s most iconic items during his tenure with Queen, one of his stage-used and owned “bottomless” mics. The bottomless mic was a signature for Freddie and he used one at most shows. The way it came about was early in Queen’s career, apparently mid show his mic stand snapped in half. Instead of replacing the mic, Freddie continued the show with the mic as-is. Ever since then, Freddie always used the signature bottomless mic. This Mic Stand originates from Mick “Not Dave” Riddle, a dedicated member of the crew for the “Magic” tour. He had a catering company called “Toad in the Hole” that catered the whole tour. Also, he is credited in both the “Live Magic” album and tour program for his work as crew. The bottomless mic was used circa 1986. The mic shows the “Made in Austria” tag which was common with all of the mic stands. The photo shown is an identical mic stand Freddie using in concert. Comes with a letter of provenance and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity..
